The Armenian culture and religion was prevalent in Kyrgyzstan, in the Middle Ages.

Historian Vasily Ploskikh stated the aforementioned during a videoconference between the Armenian and Kyrgyz capital cities of Yerevan and Bishkek, respectively.

“There is a prevailing Armenian diaspora in Kyrgyzstan” noted Ploskikh. “There are historical facts that the Armenian Church was represented in the territory of Kyrgyzstan in the early AD.”

He added that Christianity has played a major role in the development of the entire Central Asia.
