Canada expanded the list of personal sanctions against Russia.

It includes sanctions against 15 individuals, including six members of Russia’s State Duma who represent Crimea, BBC reported.

Canadian government reported that the list was expanded in order to maintain the necessary pressure on Russia until it fully complies with its international obligations with respect to Ukraine.

It was reported that these sanctions were a response to the election of deputies living in Crimea to the Russian State Duma on September 18.

Canada does not support the legitimacy and the results of those elections held in Crimea.
