The U.S. Congress intends to allocate $350 million for military assistance to Ukraine, a source in the US Senate Armed Services Committee told TASS.

The source said next year’s draft defense budget includes “$350 mln for Ukraine.”

“It is authorization for lethal assistance,” the source said.

It was noted that the decision on allocating funds will be in the authority of the U.S. president, with no preconditions.

At the moment both chambers of the Congress finished coordination of the defensive budget for 2017 fiscal year, it will be put to the vote later this week.

It should be noted that the U.S. will provide Ukraine more than $ 600 million as a security assistance.
