European Union (EU) Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation, Carlos Moedas, delivered remarks at a conference that was held recently in the Belgian capital city of Brussels, and he also reflected on his recent trip to Armenia.

In particular, Moedas noted that he witnessed a phenomenon in Armenia that deserves mention. The EU commissioner informed that he had visited the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies, in capital city Yerevan. He stated that the climate and technical equipment at this center was better than what he had seen at Silicon Valley.

Carlos Moedas also said all this further strengthened his belief that excellence exists in any country.

The EU Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation was in Yerevan within the framework of the 8th Eastern Partnership Informal Ministerial Dialogue devoted to research, science and innovation, and which was convened on November 18.
