After the reaction of Russia, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had to correct his earlier made statement on that the goal of their entrance to Syria was to end the rule of the Syrian President Bashar Assad.

At the meeting with the heads of rural administrations, Erdoğan noted that the aim of their entrance to Syria wasn't any person or state, Cumhuriyet reports. ''Our targets are terrorist structures,'' he noted.

Following the statement Russia demanded clarifications, stressing that Turkey has put its signature on the documents concerning the political normalization in Syria.
