YEREVAN. - The most probable candidate for the post of the First Deputy Chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) is Karen Karapetyan.
Spokesperson for the RPA, Eduard Sharmazanov, told the aforementioned to reporters after the RPA Executive Body session Thursday.
According to him, this was the first RPA Executive Body session with a new composition, during which the members presented their assessment on the congress and post-congress developments.
“We think the Congress came to once again prove that the Republican Party is the number one player of the political agenda. Despite all its issues and faults, the RPA has the potential of introducing qualitative changes in all the spheres of the public life,” Sharmazanov said, noting that the RPA ideology hasn’t yet come under fire. “The RPA remains the force, which forms political agenda in Armenia,”he added.
Referring to the election of the party’s deputy chairmen, he noted that the day of the Board session is not yet known: it will be convened before December 20, during which the First Deputy Chairman, deputies and commission chairmen will be elected. “Currently, the most probable candidate for the post of the [RPA] First Deputy Chairman is Karen Karapetyan,” Sharamzanov said.
