YEREVAN. – Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, Levon Mkrtchyan, received a delegation, led by German Ambassador Bernhard Matthias Kiesler. The delegation comprised representatives from the German educational and cultural programs and institutions that function in Armenia.
Minister Mkrtchyan noted that the German presence in Armenia’s education sector has achieved tangible results.
Ambassador Kiesler, for his part, informed about Germany’s willingness toward the further development of German-language teaching in the educational institutions of Armenia. Also, the diplomat proposed to set up a working group together with the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia, and which will explore the key issues in teaching German in Armenia and submit recommendations for their resolution.
The minister welcomed this proposal, and also lauded Germany’s special outlook on cooperation in education.
Representatives from the German educational and cultural programs and institutions that function in Armenia, in their turn, presented these programs and the possible avenues toward their further development.
