Outgoing U.S. President Barack Obama lit the National Christmas Tree at the White House for the eighth and final time as president, Daily Mail reported.

During his speech Obama praised the American values which, according to him, unite all Americans, regardless of whether they celebrate Christmas or not.

He thanked Americans for honor to be their president.

This was the 94th annual National Christmas Tree Lighting on the Ellipse, the public park located south of the White House fence.

Obama is resigning on January 20, Donald Trump will become the new head of the state.
