YEREVAN. – Armenia is finalizing talks with the European Union on a 10 million euro funding for irrigation systems, Deputy Agriculture Minister Armen Harutyunyan said.

The program will be targeted at installation of drip irrigation systems at farms for water saving. In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and the European donors try to help farmers to enlarge the land.

“We will offer the villagers to sell or exchange scattered areas, so that the land belonging to one farm could be collected. So it is easier to manage, including for the purposes of irrigation,” the Minister told reporters.
