YEREVAN. - Only three powers have so far ascertained the format of their participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Earlier, Nikol Pashinyan's Civil Contract, Edmon Marukyan's Bright Armenia and Aram Sargsyan's Republic parties announced about the formation of a united alliance. Whereas it was expected that National Assembly MP Khachatur Kokobelyan's 'Free Democrats' and 'Heritage' parties would get involved here, thus completing the pro-Western wing.

According to the circulated information, it is possible that the Free Democrats enter into alliance with former PM, deputy Hrant Bagratyan's Liberty Party. Besides, rumors are circulated on the formation of possible alliance between Heritage and former FM Vartan Oskanian's Unity parties. Actually, the fate of Heritage Party is uncertain, some political figures finding that this is due to the party leader Raffi Hovannisian's changing nature and manner of breaking arrangements.

In addition, there is also a need for agreeing and consolidating on a common stance inside the party. According to certain information, the situation is confused here as well: Everyone is insisting on their position. MP Zaruhi Postanjyan is for extremist position, while party's Deputy Chairman Armen Martirosyan is for uniting with other parties and participating in the elections together.

Armen Martorosyan assured Armenian News – NEWS.am that there is no contradiction between him and Postanjyan. According to him, the party council convened a session and established guidelines, which they follow.

Referring to the Pashinyan's, Sargsyan's and Marukyan's reluctance to join the alliance, Martirosyan said: ''Heritage has no wish and is not going to join any party. Heritage says let's all join together, create a wide consolidation and struggle with one front for radical changes in Armenia, which should start with the change of power. This was our goal, and the discussions underway now relate to this.''

Martirosyan declined to elaborate on which forces they are continuing to hold talks with and whether they will finally manage to form alliance with any one of them. ''I can't yet name them,'' he said.

The Deputy Chairman also noted that the issue on including Raffi Hovannisian in the election list has not yet been discussed. He will return to Armenia next week and many questions will become clear.
