YEREVAN. – Bulgaria’s new Ambassador to Armenia, Maria Pavlova Tsosorkova-Kaymaktchieva, on Friday presented her credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

The President congratulated the ambassador on her appointment and wished every success, Press Office of the President informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. Sargsyan noted with satisfaction that Armenian-Bulgarian interstate relations have a strong base that is anchored in cultural similarities, age-old friendship, and dynamically developing political and economic dialogue.

All this, according to the President, create an excellent foundation for further strengthening and deepening of relations between Armenia and Bulgaria. Serzh Sargsyan also expressed the hope that the newly appointed ambassador will promote these relations through her active work, and contribute to the opening and development of the full potential for cooperation in various domains.

Ambassador Tsosorkova-Kaymaktchieva, for her part, concurred with the President’s assessment on interstate relations, and stressed the importance of the full utilization of the existing legal framework, which comprises over five dozen documents, and expansion of cooperation.

The parties exchanged views also on the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) peace process, and regional challenges.
