Skyscanner tourist service has noted record growth in Russians’ demand to spend the New Year in Armenia, Lenta reports, citing the company’s press-service.

The experts analyzed the data on booking tickets and hotels for the upcoming winter holidays. Consequently, it turned out that the interest to Armenia has grown by 119 percent as compared to the analogous period in 2015.

The number of bookings in Cyprus and Azerbaijan grew by 70 and 69 percent respectively. Russians have also come to take more interest in the vacation in Greece (plus 53 percent) and Georgia (40 percent growth).

Thailand has become the most popular destination for the New Year holidays, Italy and Greece coming the second and third respectively. The top 10 also included Italy, Czech Republic, Turkey, France, U.S. and UAE in decreasing order.

Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Sochi have proved to be the most demanded cities for spending the winter vacation in Russia. In fact, the popularity of trips within the country has grown by one third as compared to the New Year of 2015-2016.
