U.S. President-elect Donald Trump officially announced plans to nominate James Mattis as Defense Secretary, NBC News reported.

Donald said that the U.S. needed a right person for success of their military strategy adding that he was glad to nominate retired Marine Gen. James Mattis as Defense Secretary, touting him as a man who “plays no games.”

Trump called Mettis “one of the most effective generals that we have had in many decades”.

Mettis, 66, last served as the 11th Commander of United States Central Command from 2010 to 2013.
