The first Nintendo game, Super Mario Run, requires a permanent Internet connection for functioning in smartphones, said the game designer Seager Miyamoto in his interview to Mashable, reports Meduza. 

He explained, that it is the way, the developers of the game will be fighting against pirated versions. Moreover, permanent connection will synchronize three different levels: World Tour, Toad Rally, and Mushroom Kingdom.
