YEREVAN. – National Assembly (NA) of Armenia Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov, who also heads the observation mission of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS), on Saturday visited the memorial pantheon to the Kyrgyzstan repression victims.

Sharmazanov, together with the IPA CIS delegation members, paid tribute to these victims, the NA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am. Also the CIS MPs underscored the need to condemn past crimes, in order to prevent new ones.

“My people have become the victim of such a crime in Ottoman Turkey, at the turn of the [20th] century, and in Sumgait and Baku [in Azerbaijan], at the end of the [same] century,” the Armenian parliament deputy speaker noted, in particular. “Azerbaijan’s aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh [(Artsakh)], in April, was a severe violation of human rights.

“Today, we are obligated to say our united ‘no’ to today’s barbarians; this is the only true tribute before the innocent victims that are buried here.”
