Armenia’s integration with the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) poses trade challenges with the European Union (EU).

Spokesperson for EU Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Maja Kocijančič, told the abovementioned to NEWS.am.

Consumer loans without collateral up to AMD 2,000,000

Up to December 30 consumer loans without collateral up to AMD 2,000,000 will be granted only with annual interest rate of 19-20%

“The scope for potential cooperation on economy and trade has to take into account Armenia's obligations deriving from its membership of the EEU,” noted Kocijančič. “The EEU membership in itself is not an obstacle for Armenia’s cooperation with the EU on economy and trade, but integration with the EEU does, however, pose trade challenges.

“For example given that the EEU constitutes a customs union it prevents Armenia from concluding a preferential trade agreement with the EU that impacts upon tariffs. However, we made it clear from the very beginning that it is for Armenia to take into account its new obligations arising out of its accession to the EEU; this is an assessment to be made primarily by the Armenian negotiators. The obligations of the parties must be known at the moment of concluding the agreement. This new situation will obviously impact the future level of economic and trade cooperation between Armenia and the EU, but our level of ambition for this part of the agreement, as with the others, remains high.”
