YEREVAN. – In Indonesia, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, Armen Papikyan, met with head of the Directorate General of American and European Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Muhammad Anshor.

They discussed numerous matters that are on the agenda of bilateral relations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Both sides reaffirmed the need for further deepening and strengthening of bilateral ties. In this context, they underscored the activities by Armenia’s embassy in Jakarta. In this connection, Papikyan expressed the hope that, based on the precept of reciprocity, the Indonesian authorities will soon consider founding an embassy of Indonesia in Yerevan. He stressed that this move will give new impetus to the development of bilateral relations.

Anshor, for his part, noted that this talk is a good opportunity for conferring on the matters that are on the agenda of bilateral relations.

Subsequently, the interlocutors reflected on the situation in the Middle East, and the processes in Southeast Asia.
