The German Chancellor Angela Merkel promised to support Kiev to achieve visa liberation as soon as possible, she said in a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
The Ukrainian presidential press service informed that "the parties expressed a concern over the continuous ceasefire violations by the Russian fighters." Poroshenko also evaluated blocking the process of releasing Ukrainian prisoners by Russia as inadmissible.
Poroshenko expressed a hope, that the decision on the extension of the EU sanctions against Russia will soon be adopted. Merkel said, that she will support Ukraine to complete the process of receiving visa liberation as soon as possible. The interlocutors also touched upon the issue of energy security of Ukraine and the EU.
