YEREVAN. - Currently about 4000 Yazidi women are kept hostage by the Islamic State terrorist organization.

Chairman of the Association of Young Yazidis of Armenia, Said Avdalyan, said the aforementioned at a press-conference on Friday.

In his words, superpowers no longer pay attention to this. “Over 500 million Yazidis have become refugees as a result of the genocide in 2014. They mainly reside in tents and are on the brink of humanitarian catastrophe: many die from cold, hunger and epidemics. And if no steps are taken to save the Yazidis from the humanitarian catastrophe, the Middle East will lose its Yazidi community,” Avdalyan noted.

He also added that Sangala district has not yet been liberated, actions being carried out for the liberation of Mosul and Tel-Aviv. “If the actions against ISIS are carried out simultaneously with Syria and Iraq, this will be quite effective. Our Yazidi armed units, whose number reaches 15,000 and more, are fighting for the liberation of Sangala, Mosul and Tel-Aviv,” Avdalyan added.
