Turkey’s pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party (HDP) MP, Mehmet Emin Adıyaman, has been detrained in the country.

After a conference in Gaziantep town, police approached the HDP deputy who is elected from Iğdır Province—which borders Armenia, and detained him, according to Milliyet daily of Turkey. 

Police detained Adıyaman, who is Kurdish, on the grounds of his refusal to appear before the court.

He is charged with conducting “propaganda for a terrorist organization.”
