The US Congress will show a decisive resistance, if President-elect Donald Trump attempts to cancel the sanctions against Russia, imposed by Barack Obama's administration, warned the member of the House of Representative, Democrat Adam Schiff. Moreover, he found it possible for legislators to tighten anti-restrictive measures, reports DW.

" You're going to see Democrats, and Republicans like [John] McCain and [Lindsey] Graham, and others come together with a strong sanctions package because frankly even though what the administration did was more than symbolic -- it was very meaningful -- it is not enough to deter Russia,” said Schiff in an interview with ABC.

Adam Schiff criticized Donald Trump for casting doubts on statements of the American intelligence services, which accuse Russian hackers of interfering in the presidential elections of November 8, 2016.

" If he's going to have any credibility as president, he needs to stop talking this way. He needs to stop denigrating the intelligence community. He's going to rely on them. He's going to have to rely on them,"said the  member of the House of Representatives.
