The person suspected of attacking the US diplomat has been arrested in the capital of Jalisco, Guadalajara, reports Xinhua.

The governor of Jalisco in his Twitter page wrote, that Mexico’s special forces arrested the suspect. Currently, the suspect is handed to the Mexican General Prosecutor's Office for questioning. However, the details of his arrest and his identification are not yet disclosed. According to the local media, 31-year-old suspect is a US citizen of Indian origin, who settled in Guadalajara last November.

The attack took place on the evening of January 6. It was captured by cameras. The video posted on the internet shows, how the offender shot the windshield of the American consulate employee’s car and ran away. The FBI promised a reward of 20 thousand dollars for providing an information about the criminal. The American diplomat is in a stable condition. Nothing threatens his life.
