The cache servers of Akamai, one of the world’s largest content delivery network (CDN) providers, are now operating in Armenia, ArmIX Foundation Director Vahan Hovsepyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

As a result, tens of thousands of websites, whose access is provided by Akamai, can now be opened more quickly in Armenia, since the caches of these websites will be installed on local servers.

Thus, in the case when the traffic exchange at ArmIX used to be between 3 to 4 gigabits per second, the installation of the Akamai cache has now increased it by more than twice.
