Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov talked on phone with his Turkish counterpart Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on Tuesday. The ministers discussed the aspects of preparation to the upcoming inter-Syrian meeting in Astana.
They continued discussing a number of issues related to the implementation of provisions included in the documents signed by the Syrian government and opposition, the press-service of the Russian MFA reports.
“The importance of observing the ceasefire and constructive approach on preparing to inter-Syrian meeting in Astana under an absolute necessity to continue the struggle against terrorist groups was underscored,” the statement reads.
Apart from this, certain pressing issues on the agenda of Russian-Turkish relations were discussed.
