Los Angeles Valley College paid $28.000 to hackers, after they had carried out a cyberattack on the school’s system. Hackers blocked accounts of students and school staff during winter holidays, reports Americaru.

The school paid the ransom, using Bitcoins system. Hackers blocked the access to the messaging system and accounts, and threatened to delete them in a week, in case they do not receive the required amount. The school administration concluded, that paying the ransom is cheaper for the school than unblocking the system.
