YEREVAN. – The cheapest possible electricity needs to be produced in Armenia, so that its selling will be more profitable, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan noted at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

In view of that, Karapetyan instructed the minister of energy infrastructures and natural resources to revise the energy development strategy of the country, and to continue with the facilities for electricity production cost price reduction.

This is especially important considering the fact that Armenia’s electricity transmission lines toward Iran and Georgia shall be put into service in several years, and this means exporting electricity will be easier and to a greater extent.
