On the occasion of Armenian Christmas, a group of Muslim residents of Derik district in Turkey’s Mardin Province visited the only Armenian family still living in the district.

Writer Eyüp Güven, a member of this visiting group, noted that Armenians are a native people of the region, and that they visited Naif Demirci—a member of Derik’s sole Armenian family—with gifts, especially to congratulate Christmas, informed Mardinlife website of Turkey.

“It’s a big problem that Armenians have left this region,” added Güven. “But we remember them, and we congratulate all Armenians on Christmas.”

Demirci, for his part, stressed that their Muslim neighbors never leave them on their own and always care about their wellbeing.
