At the threshold of elections in Germany and France this year, the European countries develop protective mechanisms ahead of elections to counter possible cyber-attacks and misinformation from Russia. Though the intelligence officials assess, that these attacks might have little influence or be late, reports Reuters.

This task has become more urgent, when the American intelligence agencies published a report about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s assignment of cyber-attacks to increase chances of Donald Trump’s winning in the presidential elections. 

The NATO and Europe create centers to identify “fake news", strengthen the cyber defense, and follow Russian-speaking audience in social networks, political parties, voters, and people responsible for decision-making.
