The Belarus Prosecutor General's Office is studying the Azerbaijani request for extradition of Alexander Lapshin, the Russian-Israeli blogger who was detained in Minsk. No decision on this issue has been made yet, reports RIA Novosti, referring to prosecutor's office.

In mid-December Lapshin wrote, that he was arrested in Minsk on the request of Azerbaijan, where he was in the "black list" for traveling to Karabakh. “Such people are prohibited from entering Azerbaijan,” wrote the Azarbaijani authorities. However, in 2015 Lapshin entered Azerbaijan through Georgia with his Ukrainian passport. He managed to cross the border, as his name is written with “O” in his Ukrainian passport. After that, the Azerbaijani government has declared an international arrest against him for violating the law "On State Border".

The Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office spokesman Eldar Sultanov said, that they had already provided the Belarusian law enforcement agencies with the necessary documents to extradite Lapshin. The ambassador of Belarus to Azerbaijan Gennady Ahramovich does not exclude the possibility of extradition of the blogger to Baku, if the Azerbaijani application complies with all the requirements of the law.

The information about the citizenship of Lapshin is dissimilar. On Friday, the Belarusian media reported, that he got the visit of representatives of the Israeli Embassy.
