US will ease sanctions against Sudan, after the Sudani government has taken “positive actions”, said the US President Barack Obama, reports RIA Novosti. Obama wrote in his letter to the Senate and the Congress, that “Sudan’s positive actions over the past 6 months” changed the situation.

According to Obama, "these actions include a marked reduction in offensive military activity, culminating in a pledge to maintain a cessation of hostilities in conflict areas in Sudan, and steps toward the improvement of humanitarian access throughout Sudan, as well as cooperation with the United States on addressing regional conflicts and the threat of terrorism.”

The letter also says, that a number of points of orders issued by the Presidents of the US in various times will be canceled. “As a result, U.S. persons will generally be able to transact with individuals and entities in Sudan, and the property of the Government of Sudan subject to U.S. jurisdiction will be unblocked.”
