Rare Ruby Seadragon has been captured on camera by scientists for the first time, reports RIA Novosti.

The new species of the sea dragons were first discovered in 2015. At that time, researchers had to confirm its existence based on a sample of the Australian Museum by decoding DNA samples found in 1919-2007. Luckily, the conclusion has been backed by the evidence.

Scientists believe, that Ruby seadragons inhabit sea areas below 50 meters, while the bright red shade helps them to hide in water.
