YEREVAN. - The Indian Day took place in Yerevan on Saturday.

The event, which was organized by the Indo-Armenian Friendship NGO in association with the Indian Embassy in Armenian and LOFT anti-café, gave Yerevan residents a chance to feel the spirit of that country and its ancient culture.

The interesting initiative kicked off with the screening of the film entitled “Let the heart beat” (Dil Dhadakne Do, 2015), which won the competition on Facebook.

Indian Ambassador to Armenia Yogeshwar Sangwan attended the official opening ceremony. In the framework of the “Indian Day,” the diplomat showed a “master class”: he cooked a unique national dish from potatoes, onion, tomatoes, cabbage and different Indian spices.

By the end of the event, a film on yoga was screened. The discussion of the film was also held by Ambassador Sangwan.

It is remarkable that the event participants and lovers of Indian culture were able to admire a photo exhibition entitled “Incredible India,” get familiarized with the Indian handicraft and the art of Mehndi, as well as listen to Indian music.

The photo exhibition aimed to present the cultural and historical miracles of India through the photos of Armenian travelers, who visited the country.
