The issue of a single Eurasian currency has not yet been discussed, said the EEC Board member Tatiana Valovaya. "The experience with euro itself points to the fact, that we should not hurry. Although the EU, in comparison with the EEC, had prerequisites and requirements for the establishment of a single currency, they had made a lot in post factum, including financial arrangements. That’s why the EEC needs more time to settle it," she said.

The EEC has an aim to harmonize the national financial systems by 2025, so that EEC member states’ commercial banks be more flexible on their operation within the system without a need to re-license.  The financial policies will be coordinated by supranational regulators, without liquidating the national bases, she said.
