YEREVAN. – Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Armenia strongly denied the Azerbaijani allegation of using a Shmel-type man-portable rocket launcher.

Artsrun Hovhannisyan, Spokesperson of the Minister of Defense of Armenia, told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the respective accusation by the Azerbaijan MOD is a provocative disinformation.

“In numerous cases, the Armenian side does not respond to the cease-fire violations by the adversary,” stressed Hovhannisyan.

At the same time, he stated yet again that Armenia supports the introduction of mechanisms for investigating incidents, and it stands ready to investigate any incident at the border with Azerbaijan.

“So, the problem is in the position of Azerbaijan,” concluded Artsrun Hovhannisyan. “Are they ready to determine the circumstances of the incident which they themselves had stated?”
