YEREVAN. - The return of former leader of Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan to politics will not distract the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) from its political plans.

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov, who is also the RPA spokesman, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am on Tuesday.

He recalled that in connection with Tsarukyan’s return he had cited the words of Greek philosopher Heraclitus, noting that "Everything changes and nothing remains still”.  “A new political situation has emerged. Many changes happen in life. The RPA has its political agenda: the party will follow its political program, and in the condition of competition our people will decide who to vote for on April 2.

The RPA has its own priorities and agenda regardless of the election campaigns and political programs of Tsarukyan, Ohanyan, Pashinyan, Mikayelyan, Marukyan, Kokobelyan, Bagratyan and other opposition figures,” Sharamazanov stressed.

Asked whether Tsarukyan’s return was agreed with the ruling party, the RPA spokesman noted: “We didn’t, don’t and will not develop the political plans of other politicians and teams, including those of Gagik Tsarukuan. This is the task of our political opponents.”

Former leader of Prosperous Armenia Party, tycoon Gagik Tsarukyan has decided to return to active politics and stand as a candidate in the upcoming parliamentary elections on April 2.
