YEREVAN. - Chief of Armenian Police Vladimir Gasparyan on Tuesday reported to the Armenian President on the process of the traffic police reforms.
He noted that the concept paper on the reforms of the traffic police system and the draft schedule for the actions stemming from them were prepared and submitted to the Government on November 30.
In the framework of the concept paper, Vladimir Gasparyan presented to the President the actions, whose implementation will contribute to raising the level of security, especially in the area of road traffic, efficiency of traffic organization, as well as reduction of accidents and violations.
The Chief of Police also noted that he had sent the aforementioned concept paper to ministries and agencies concerned. The final version of the document will be submitted to the Government on January 20.
A number of projects have alreadybeen introduced, for instance, the portable camera for the traffic police patrol.
Gasparyan also reported on the results of talks with Security Dream LTD, which operates the surveillance cameras on highways. A draft decision of the Government on depositing inventory has been prepared.
President Serzh Sargsyan underscored the importance of a number of key events, which significantly improve the work of the traffic police, including the issuance of licenses and license plates, state registration of vehicles, etc.
