YEREVAN. – Minister of Agriculture of Armenia, Ignati Arakelyan, on Wednesday received Dutch Ambassador Jos Douma, whose diplomatic residence is in the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi.

Hailing Armenia’s potential in agriculture, Ambassador Douma informed that the Netherlands stands ready to assist in more effectively fulfilling this potential, the Ministry of Agriculture informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Also, the Dutch diplomat offered the Armenian minister proposals for mechanisms to eliminate the consequences of hail; Arakelyan promised to consider these proposals.

Reflecting on the more promising domains in Armenian-Dutch agricultural cooperation, the interlocutors made specific reference to the development of the potato industry. Furthermore, they discussed the opportunities for agricultural equipment upgrading in Armenia.

In addition, Ignati Arakelyan and Jos Douma exchanged view on the feeding of farm animals, and on several other matters of mutual interest.
