YEREVAN. – As a result of a normal development of the IT sector in Armenia, there automatically will be 40 thousand IT specialists in the country, in 2025.

Karen Vardanyan, Executive Director of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE) of Armenia, stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Wednesday.

In his words, real effective strategy for the development of this sector in Armenia should be aimed at the establishment of 70 to 80 thousand IT specialists within the next ten years.

As per Vardanyan, if IT development in Armenia goes on the right path and all the respective planned projects are implemented, the country will have at least  70 thousand good IT specialists, in 2025.

The corresponding strategy which the UITE director proposed comprises education, business development, cooperation with the government, and presenting Armenia abroad as a brand.

As per Karen Vardanyan, however, the most important is education.
