YEREVAN. - Deputy Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, Hermine Naghdalyan, met with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Armenia Timur Urazayev on Friday.

In the course of the meeting the sides touched on the situation in the region, the press-service of the parliament informed Armenian News – NEWS.am. The importance of the stability and peace in the region and the steps taken by the two countries in that direction was underscored.

In this context, Naghdalyan highly appreciated the position adopted by the Kazakhstan authorities, particularly, the manifesto ‘Peace: 21st Century’ proposed by President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, which aims to eradicate the wars going on in the world.

Referring to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Kazakhstan Ambassador, for his part, expressed regret in connection with the incident on the Armenian Azerbaijani border in the beginning of the year, which claimed the lives of servicemen. The diplomat reaffirmed the position of Astana on regulating the conflict exclusively by peaceful means.

The sides also discussed issues of cooperation in international organizations.
