YEREVAN. - Russia and Turkey will play a key role in the upcoming summit on Syria to be held in Astana.

Former deputy foreign minister of Armenia, Ambassador Arman Navasardyan, said the aforementioned at a press-conference on Friday.

In his words, the cooperation of Russia and Turkey with Iran will lead to serious problems. “Tehran accuses Ankara of not fighting terrorism, at the same time wishing to strengthen its positions in Syria. Turkey demands that the Hezbollah movement leave Syria, which Iran opposes,” Navasarsyan noted.

According to the diplomat, Russia and Turkey are conducting a policy against Tehran behind the latter’s back. “But certain events may take place, which will change the political face of the entire region,” Navasardyan added.
