YEREVAN. - I don’t think of establishing my own party, Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said at the meeting with the students and faculty of the American University of Armenia (AUA) on Friday
“Having joined the Republican Party of Armenia and knowing how this may be interpreted by different people, I want to note that I joined this party very honestly and explained why [I did that]. I don’t want to enumerate the seven reasons [once again],” the Premier said.
According to him, a prime minister should have a party backing. Moreover, Karapetyan added that when joining the party he had through discussion with the party leadership, and his main motive behind joining the party was that they presented to him how important it is to change oneself and many things in Armenia.
“This is an evident truth. We will mention in our election campaign program as well that during our path we had mistakes, for subjective and objective reasons. Not every party, including those, who used to be in power, expresses themselves so courageously. Why do we urge to vote for us? We know very well the ‘pits’ and ‘crossroads’ which any political force taking up the responsibility for tomorrow’s day will face,” Karapetyan stated.
