YEREVAN. - The Armenian National Congress (ANC) demands to show respect for the April war victims and extend the elections to the last ten days of April.

“Thanks to heroic self-defense, but also at the cost of over hundreds of lives, it was possible to prevent more serious consequences. April 2 marks the first year of the heroes’ death.

As such, it is a day of traditional ceremonies for the families and friends of the victims and a commemoration day for the entire Armenian people. It has already been recorded that the parliamentary election day was set in violation of the relevant provision of the Constitution in force.

Without going deep into the possible motives of the authorities, the ANC demands to show respect for the victims of the April war, and set the day of the parliamentary elections pursuant to the requirements provided for by Article 209 of the transitional provisions of the Constitution in force, in accordance with Article 68 of the previous Constitution, that is, in the period between April 21 to 30.”
