Supreme Court ruled that the UK Government cannot trigger article 50 without act of the Parliament, BBC reported.

The Supreme Court also decided that there was no need for the government to wait for consent from the devolved assemblies in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

Earlier it was reported that High Court of London decided that the Brexit, initiated by application of Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, cannot be completed only by the sole decision of the UK Government without participation of parliament.

Application of Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty formally launches the two-year procedure of Brexit, which is expected to start in March 2017.
