YEREVAN. - On the sidelines of the international competition of innovations Eurasia Mobile Challenge, organized by VimpelCom, Armenian News – NEWS.am inquired from several teams about their projects (photos).

The Armenian team Terreva presented a convenient instrument for recognizing plants. Combining the latest research on visual recognition technologies with botanic expert review, the developers developed a mobile application, which will help keep plants healthy and bright thanks to the provided information and practical tips on care.

Georgian representatives, who are concerned about the disappearance of green spaces on the planet, have invented a new marketing instrument, which will help change the situation. The only thing you need to do is to buy the product with the Treepex logo, upload the mobile application and scan the QR code. Voila! The purchase will be added to the Treepex system and somewhere on the planet a tree will appear, which will be named after its purchaser. Once the seedling is planted, the client will get a notification and email via the application, including the photo of the “personal”tree and its GPS location. The planted tree and the name of its owner can be found on the Treepex map.

The Ukrainian team offers the service Photofact composed of a mobile application and cloud platform, which converts photos into a reporting document protected from forgery. Their compatriots developed inCust – a non-card system of business loyalty operating “on turnkey basis” in 15 minutes. The solution combines several functions: use of a telephone number instead of plastic, access to the unified communication space for the client and instant launch even on a smartphone.

Representatives of the Smart Parking team from Russia told about their application, which helps not only easily and quickly find a parking place but also allows making payment directly from the phone. Their target is the Russian market yet but they plan to expand in the future.  

The Donate-Asia.org start-up is a crowdfunding platform primarily designed for helping those in need. The initiators stress that although the program is used exclusively by non-commercial organizations, independent actors, manufacturers, political campaigns, start-ups and even scientific researchers are also among its users.

 

Meanwhile, the team from Kazakhstan, AgroShield, has developed its own meteorological station and offers software called to simplify the life of agricultural workers.  Thus, depending on the region, season and weather conditions, the user will be able to receive absolutely accurate dates for ingrafting fruit trees, avoiding the need of repeating it.

The application MyApteka developed by the team from Uzbekistan offers a convenient tool for searching for information on any medicine of interest, its side effects and product instruction.

According to the results of the local stages held in Yerevan on Wednesday, 24 teams from eight countries—Russia, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan—have passed to the regional final of Eurasia Mobile Challenge.

The winners will present their products in the final, which will be held in the framework of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from February 27 to March 2.  Besides, they will get monetary prizes in the amount of USD $20,000, USD $15,000, USD $10,000 for the first, second and third places respectively.
