The US Defense Department announced about the meeting of the US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Joseph Dunford and the Russian Chief of the Armed Forces’ General Staff Valery Gerasimov in Baku, reports BBC.

"The military leaders will discuss a variety of issues including the current state of U.S.-Russian military relations and the importance of consistent and clear military-to-military communication to prevent miscalculation and potential crises," the Pentagon's statement reads.

There are no details about the agenda of the meeting yet.
