The European Parliament (EP) approved a resolution, proposed by former Prime Minister of Belgium and Brexit negotiator Guy Verhofstadt, to strengthen centralization of the European Union, EU getting its own finance minister and creation of a common European army.

As BBC reported, 283 deputies voted for the resolution, 269 were against and 83 refrained.

Approval of the European Parliament may indicate the beginning of a fundamental reform of the EU treaty.

The Belgian politician considers that within the European Union it is necessary to give a priority to the solution of the majority of the countries, without waiting for approval of all members of the EU on this or that issue.
