YEREVAN. – All possible provocations by the Azerbaijani side will receive a proper response (PHOTOS).

The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, on Saturday noted the above-said at the 11th Congress of the Yerkrapah (Defender of the Land) Volunteer Union.

In his words, Azerbaijan has illusions that Armenia will be busy with a parliamentary election—which is slated for April 2, and therefore it will become vulnerable, and, perhaps, Baku will attempt to resort to new provocations.

“Baku recently called the Karabakh issue an internal problem of Azerbaijan,” stressed Sargsyan. “Sadly, this very mentality has led to [the] escalation [of tension] and war, bringing suffering, first of all, to the people of Azerbaijan.

“Karabakh problem is the affair of the Armenian people. The future of Karabakh will be what the people of Karabakh decide. And we [i.e. Armenia] stand—like a mountain—behind our brothers and sisters of Karabakh.

“All possible provocations will receive the deserving strike in response. We accept the real balance of power as basis.”
