STEPANAKERT. – As of Monday 2pm, a total of 48,115 citizens, or 46.82 percent of the total number of voters, have cast their ballots in the constitutional referendum being held in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh).

Deputy chairman of the NKR Referendum Central Commission (RCC), Yeghishe Arzumanyan, stated about the abovementioned at the RCC Press Centre.

A total of 139 people, or 24.65 percent of voters, have cast their ballots in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

In Arzumanyan’s words, the voter participation at the Yerevan constituency is low because the voters’ lists there were prepared considering the NKR students studying in Armenia’s capital city, whereas some of them have already voted in Artsakh.

In addition, the RCC presented the respective voter turnout, as of 2pm, according to election districts.

The NKR on Monday is conducting a constitutional referendum.

The respective constitutional amendments envision a transition from a semi-presidential to a presidential system of government in Artsakh.
