The head of the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused the US intelligence agencies of eavesdropping the Russian ambassador to the US Sergei Kislyak, reports Interfax.

"The US intelligence told the reporters, absolutely officially, albeit anonymously, that the communication, as they put it, of our Ambassador Kislyak was routinely eavesdropped, including his reports about his activities and duties in Washington," said Lavrov.

The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said, that the information about eavesdropping Kislyak appeared against the background of the scandal about the alleged links of the former US presidential adviser Michael Flynn with Moscow.

"We also read interesting things, for example, in connection with the scandal, developed around General Flynn, who worked in the position of National Security Advisor for a few weeks ", he added.
