The US intends to continue cooperation with the European Union, announced the US Vice President Mike Pence, at a press conference in Brussels with the European Council President Donald Tusk.

"Whatever our differences, our two continents share the same heritage, the same values and above all, the same purpose to promote peace and prosperity through freedom, democracy and the rule of law," said Mike Pence.

Donald Tusk in his turn commented on the statement of US President Donald Trump about the EU and NATO, as being "outdated", saying that

too much had happened over the past months “for us to pretend that everything is as it used to be."

The head of the European Council said, that he discussed three main topics with Pence: world order, security, and the new US administration's approach to the European Union. According to him, the US Vice President expressed his support to each of these issues.
